  • What does 'Membership' mean?

    When you apply to join First Defence Finance, you become a member. That's because we are a Credit Union.


     Being a member means you become a shareholder of our Credit Union. That means you have a vote on how we run the business. It also means you're keeping your money in your community.


    Members are rewarded with member benefits and annual dividends (like interest) on their savings.

  • Save as you earn

    When you become a member, you simply let us know how much you want to save each month and we arrange for your savings to be deposited straight from your salary.


    If you're a Veteran or an Armed Forces Family member, you can set up your savings by Direct Debit.

    If you need to borrow for a one-off purchase like a car or a holiday or even if you just want to clear off some debts - we could help!


    Members can apply for loans from £500 to £35,000.
